Erst Ende Oktober veröffentlichte Apple das iPad mini. Der offizielle Verkauf des kleinen iPad läuft noch nicht einmal eine Woche, und doch ist angeblich bereits die zweite Generation des iPad mini in der Planung. Einer der größten Kritikpunkte am iPad mini ist die Qualität des Displays. Und genau an diesem Punkt will Apple scheinbar mit der nächsten Generation ansetzen und anstelle des momentan verwendeten Panels ein Retinadisplay verbauen. Zumindest, wenn man den Gerüchten glauben schenken kann.
AU Optronics soll Retinadisplays zur Verfügung stellen
Die Webseite SlashGear berichtet von einer chinesischen Quelle, die behauptet, dass das Retinadisplay von Apple-Zulieferer AU Optronics kommen soll. Das Unternehmen liefert auch die Displays für das aktuelle iPad mini. Die zweite Generation soll dann im kommenden Jahr erscheinen. Damit würde es Apple gelingen, innerhalb von nur einer Generation auf das hochauflösende Display zu springen.
In einem weiteren Report von MENAFN heißt es, dass AU Optronics die IGZO-Technologie sowie Gate IC on array einsetzen will, um auch in einem dünnen kleinen Gerät wie dem iPad mini Retina-Auflösung zu einem vertretbaren Preis zur Verfügung stellen zu können. Nur so könne man mit dem Drang nach immer dünneren Geräten mithalten. Die Displays sollen angeblich bereits im vierten Quartal des Geschäftsjahres 2013 auslieferbar sein.
Beide Berichte stammen aus ungesicherten Quellen und enthalten einiges an Verwirrung um die Pixeldichte der Displays. Sollten sich die Gerüchte aber bewahrheiten, so könnten iPad-Fans sich bereits im kommenden Jahr über ein hochauflösendes iPad mini freuen.

verkaufen erstmal alte technologie (2011) fuer ganz viel geld, obwohl schon A6 chip und retina da sind.
Apple hat echt keine gute ideen mehr.

Wenn man so ein dünnes Gerät mit so einer Akkulaufzeit schaffen will, muss man erstmal kompromisse beim Dislay machen. Das Retina verbraucht halt auch mehr! Genauso wie ein schnellerer Prozessor. Ich versteh nicht euer Problem! Das Gerät läuft super flüssig, warum einen schnelleren Prozessor einbauen, der nur mehr Energie schlucken würde? Natürlich kann man so argumentieren, dass man so vllt mit späteren iOS Versionen Probleme bekommen könnte, aber im Moment läuft doch alles super! ;)

Niemand zwingt euch das iPad Mini zu kaufen und wenn ihr besseres Display haben wollt dann geht doch zu Samsung & Co. Also ich bin froh dass es Samsung & Co. gibt. Stil hat schon immer ein bisschen was gekostet. Deswegen zahle ich gerne mehr für das Beste UND schönste Gerät. Alle anderen gehen zu Samsung.
