Apple: Angela Ahrendts nimmt ihre Arbeit als SVP of Retail auf

Es ist knapp sechs Monate her, dass bekannt wurde, dass die ehemalige CEO von Burberry, Angela Ahrendts, bei Apple die Position als SVP of Retail and Online Stores angenommen hat. Vor einigen Tagen hat Ahrendts nun ihre Arbeit bei Apple aufgenommen.

Angela Ahrendts ersetzt John Browett

Apples CEO Tim Cook hatte bereits während der Telefonkonferenz zu den Quartalszahlen am letzten Mittwoch bekanntgegeben, dass Angela Ahrendts in dieser Woche ihre Arbeit aufnehmen würde. Ahrendts ist Apples erste SVP of Retail, seit John Browett diesen Posten im Herbst 2012 das Unternehmen verlassen musste. In der Zwischenzeit leitete Tim Cook höchstpersönlich das Retail-Geschäft von Apple. Diese Aufgabe wird nun von Angela Ahrendts übernommen.

In ihrer Zeit bei Burberry gelang es Ahrendts, die angeschlagene Marke in eine der größten Luxusmarken der Welt zu verwandeln. Seit Jahren schon äußerte sie sich äußerst positiv über Apple. Ihre Erfahrung im Modebereich dürfte Apple zugute kommen, da bereits seit Längerem über einen Vorstoß im Bereich Wearables gesprochen wird.

Angela joined Apple from Burberry, where she served as CEO and led the company through a period of outstanding global growth. Prior to Burberry, she was executive vice president at Liz Claiborne Inc., and earlier in her career she served as president of Donna Karan International.

Angela holds a Marketing and Merchandising degree from Ball State University in Indiana, where she was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2010. She is also a member of the UK’s Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council and was named honorary dame commander of the British Empire in April 2014.“
