Tim Cooks Stellungnahme<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Apples CEO Tim Cook hat k\u00fcrzlich ein Rundschreiben an Apple-Angestellte verschickt, in dem er seine Gedanken zu dem Urteil niederschrieb. Hier ist der Wortlaut:<\/p>\n

Today was an important day for Apple and for innovators everywhere.
\nMany of you have been closely following the trial against Samsung in San Jose for the past few weeks. We chose legal action very reluctantly and only after repeatedly asking Samsung to stop copying our work. For us this lawsuit has always been about something much more important than patents or money. It\u2019s about values. We value originality and innovation and pour our lives into making the best products on earth. And we do this to delight our customers, not for competitors to flagrantly copy.
\nWe owe a debt of gratitude to the jury who invested their time in listening to our story. We were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to tell it. The mountain of evidence presented during the trial showed that Samsung\u2019s copying went far deeper than we knew.
\nThe jury has now spoken. We applaud them for finding Samsung\u2019s behavior willful and for sending a loud and clear message that stealing isn\u2019t right.
\nI am very proud of the work that each of you do.
\nToday, values have won and I hope the whole world listens.
\nTim<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tim Cook stellt fest, dass man nur ungern zu rechtlichten Schritten griff<\/strong>. Erst nachdem man Samsung wiederholt gebeten habe, Apples Produkte nicht mehr zu kopieren, habe man keinen anderen Weg mehr gesehen. Der Prozess selber habe sich nicht um Geld oder Patente gedreht, sondern um Werte. Er betont, wie viel Leidenschaft<\/strong> in Apples Produkten steckt und dass diese f\u00fcr die Kunden gedacht seien, nicht f\u00fcr die Konkurrenz als Vorlage.<\/p>\n

Au\u00dferdem dankt Cook der Jury daf\u00fcr, ein Zeichen gesetzt zu haben und der Welt gezeigt zu haben, dass Diebstahl nicht rechtens ist.<\/p>\n

Samsungs Stellungnahme<\/h3>\n

Auch Samsung nahm Stellung zu dem Urteil:<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. Consumers have the right to choices, and they know what they are buying when they purchase Samsung products. This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple\u2019s claims. Samsung will continue to innovate and offer choices for the consumer.
\nWe will move immediately to file post-verdict motions to overturn this decision in this court and, if we are not successful, we will appeal this decision to the Court of Appeals.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Wie bereits berichtet, sieht Samsung das Urteil nicht als Sieg f\u00fcr Apple, sondern als Verlust f\u00fcr die Kunden<\/strong>. Es werde zu weniger Innovation und weniger Auswahl f\u00fcr die Kunden sowie zu h\u00f6heren Preisen f\u00fchren. Es sei bedauerlich, dass Patentrecht ausgenutzt werden k\u00f6nne, um einem Unternehmen ein Monopol \u00fcber Rechtecke mit runden Ecken zu geben. Gleiches gelte f\u00fcr Technologie, die jeden Tag von Samsung und anderen Firmen verbessert wird. F\u00fcr Samsung ist dies nicht das letzte Wort in diesem Streit, schlie\u00dflich werden weltweit noch mehr Verfahren ausgetragen.<\/p>\n

Samsung werde weiterhin Innovationen vorantreiben und den Kunden Wahlm\u00f6glichkeiten bieten. Au\u00dferdem k\u00fcndigte das Unternehmen an, einen Antrag auf Urteilsaufhebung<\/strong> stellen zu wollen sowie im Falle des Scheiterns das Urteil vor dem Court of Apeals anzufechten.<\/p>\n
